  1. Would this wine cozy fit a water bottle instead of a wine cozy? Would I need to make it shorter or wider?
We don’t drink wine, but I love all 4 of your wine cozies, so want to use them for something.

    1. Most water bottles are smaller than a wine bottle. What I would do is drop the hook size until the first 2 rows will fit under a water bottle (so a smaller circle). Then just stop the height sooner (if need be) and work the handles.

      1. Thank you so much. I should have been able to figure this out myself, shouldn’t I…lol

Instead, I made a crocheted hat based on this wine bottle. Turned out so cute.

  2. I confused. After the 2nd round it says to working in the even dc. Then for round 3+ it says do a dc in each one around for 24 stitches. If I work in the even dc, isn’t that 12 stitches? What am I missing?

    1. Work even means to work in every stitch going forward. So row 3 would have the same number of stitches as round 2.

  3. R20: ch 1, sc in same st as joining and next 2 st, sc 16 in ch-14 loop from the previous row, sc in next 5 st, sc 16 in ch-14 loop, sc in next 2 st. Sl st to joining. (42 st)

This is where I am confused how do you sc 16 in the chain 14 this is where I am confused as I have no clue is to how to do it

    1. The chain 14 in the previous round creates a large loop. In R20, you are crocheting over the chain (not INTO the chain). Its the same principle you use when crocheting a granny square, but you’re working over a bigger chain. Hope that helps!

  4. something happened while making the handles. I have three stitches between the handles on one side, but 5 on the other. What do you think happened?

    1. In row 18 you should have 24 stitches. Then read row 19 very carefully. You start out with 3 sc, then chains and skipping stitches, then 5 sc, then more chains and skipping stitches, then 2 sc. That leaves you with two groups of 5 sc each and two chain loops. Hope that helps!
